Jacqueline Zweig, senior research scientist, is the deputy director of REL Northeast & Islands at EDC. She specializes in leading complex applied research and evaluation studies in partnership with state and local education agency leaders. Drawing on her deep expertise in quantitative methods and educational improvement, she is providing new insights into strategies to improve outcomes for students, including online learning for high school students, online teacher training, and professional development.
Zweig leads an Institute of Education Sciences-funded randomized controlled trial that is examining the impact of an orientation on online course completion rates. Recently, she led the design, administration, and analysis of a National Science Foundation-funded nationally representative survey that examined how schools support middle-grades students who struggle in math.
A former research fellow for Michigan Virtual Learning Research Institute, Zweig has published on the topics of online teacher training, data sharing, teacher evaluation and professional learning, and principals’ time and professional development.
Zweig received a BA in Economics from Colby College and a PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California.
