Jo Mushitu, a Congolese medical doctor and public health professional, has over 15 years’ experience in public health and HIV/AIDS and extensive knowledge in the management of HIV projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). He has a wide range of technical skills and experience, with a focus on HIV prevention, care, and treatment; orphans and vulnerable children programming; TB/HIV integration; malaria; family planning; maternal-child health integration; and sexual and gender-based violence prevention.
As EDC’s chief of party (COP) of the ELIKIA project, Mushitu developed competencies in the economic strengthening of households. He is currently serving as COP of Let’s Learn Together!, a five-year basic education project funded by the USAID mission in the DRC.
Previously, Mushitu worked with international organizations such as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as well as GIZ, RTI, PSI, EGPAF, and local NGOs. He also has experience in public health qualitative and quantitative research.
Jo Mushitu received his Medical Degree from the University of Kinshasa (DRC) and has a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
