Wendy Martin, principal research scientist, works with diverse partners to expand opportunities for youth to create, learn, and imagine their future careers. She has expertise in collaborative design, mixed-methods research, and continuous improvement. She also coordinates convenings and communities of practice to enable practitioners and researchers to share and advance knowledge.
Martin co-designs STEM programs in collaboration with neurodivergent youth, formal and informal educators, and out-of-school time (OST) program providers to develop STEM career pathways for youth. Her work also contributes to large-scale initiatives and resource centers that support researchers and program developers in designing STEM learning experiences for youth and educators.
Martin and her partners have shared their work in book chapters, academic and practitioner publications, curricula, award-winning videos, and presentations to academic and practitioner audiences. She serves on several advisory boards and is a reviewer for Computers & Education and the Journal of Research on Technology and Education. She has also served on review panels for the National Science Foundation.
Martin holds a PhD in Education and Communication from Cornell University.
